People taking fosinopril may develop a dry, persistent cough that usually disappears only after stopping or lowering the fosinopril dose.
Fosinopril sodium has been rarely associated with hypotension in uncomplicated hypertensive patients.
Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert until you see how fosinopril affects you.
Fosinopril Sodium 20mg Tablets are indicated in the treatment of hypertension. Dosage reduction of fosinopril sodium may be required. Some hypertensive patients with no apparent pre-existing renal vascular disease develop increases in blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine, usually minor or transient, when fosinopril sodium is given concomitantly with a diuretic.
Patients with involvement of the tongue, glottis or larynx, are likely to experience airway obstruction, especially those with a history of airway surgery. The usual initial 10 mg dose has not been studied in patients with severe heart failure NYHA IV and in patients over 75 years treated for heart failure see section 4.
Third, ATII increases blood pressure through direct arterial vasoconstriction. Ask your pharmacist for a list of the ingredients. This appears not to be associated with a meaningful increase in the frequency of cough or angioneurotic edema, but when ACE inhibitor concentrations rise, BP can be significantly reduced, and end-organ underperfusion can occur.
Ask your doctor before use if you are taking the following medications:
Angiotensin II causes blood vessels to constrict and narrow, which increases the blood pressure.
The only serious adverse event was cerebellar ataxia and disorientation in a placebo recipient and was considered secondary to disease.
In rare instances this edema may cause extreme discomfort which is not relieved by rest.
Patients with a history of hemorrhagic stroke may be at increased risk for another stroke.
Protect your skin from bright sunlight until you know how your skin reacts, and do not use sunbeds.
These products have a high content of potassium which could be harmful for you. Try to take your doses at the same time of day each day as this will help you to remember to take your doses regularly. Fosinopril can also cause increased levels of blood potassium.
People taking fosinopril may develop a dry, persistent cough that usually disappears only after stopping or lowering the fosinopril dose. In patients undergoing here or during anesthesia with agents that produce hypotension, fosinopril will block the angiotensin II formation that could otherwise occur secondary to compensatory renin release.
